Netanya Israel Shopping

Knowing how to shop in Netanya, including bargaining, price savings, and location of stores is essential to a great vacation. Whereas in the ‘olden days’ visitors used to shop in local souvenir stores around the beach and the center of town, nowadays many prefer to do their shopping in an air-conditioned Netanya mall.

Whatever your choice of venue, Netanya has plenty of shopping options for everyone.

Netanya Mall

Shopping in Netanya Israel isn’t complete until you visit all four malls in Netanya:

  1. The Alexander Yachin Center
  2. The Big Center
  3. Hadarim Mall
  4. Sharon Mall

All have shops, restaurants ,cafes, cinemas, and of course air conditioning – not a small consideration in a hot Netanya summer afternoon. There’s also free parking and play areas such as Gymborees  for young children. You’ll also find designer clothing stores, bookshops, jewelry outlets, and Judaica shops

For a more local flavor, visit the Netanya  ‘shuk’ (market), popular amongst both locals and visitors. Succulent local summer fruits at the best prices  can be found here. On a hot day, a quick snack from the shuk may be all you need to tide you over until suppertime at the hotel or in a local Netanya restaurant. Juicy peaches, nectarines, plums, melons, grapes, and thirst-quenching watermelons can be found at very low prices.

But that’s not all you’ll find. Many people pick up cool summer clothing at the shuk, as well as Israeli sandals. Hebrew games and toys make great gifts for taking home, not to mention Israeli/Kosher packed and canned foods that are not easily found in local supermarkets outside of Israel.

As an added extra, you can bargain over prices like the locals when you shop at the shuk. Don’t be embarrassed – shuk vendors expect you to haggle and the original price is  presented with this in mind.

Netanya Flea Market

The flea market in Netanya is a great place for finding local arts & crafts, jewelry, artwork, and other unusual items to take home for yourself or as gifts.

Netanya Shopping: Did You Know?

It’s always worth comparing prices when you shop in Israel. Keep in mind that prices at Netanya resorts and tourist stores are higher than if you go into town where the local residents shop.
