Tel Aviv Things to Do

There are plenty of things to do in Tel Aviv! If you’re in the mood for some fun, consider the following:

1. Segway Tour

The Segway, a two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle that moves in response to the riders’ movement, is the latest  and very popular form of transport for getting around the city. There are several Segway tours offered in the Tel Aviv area. You can choose a tour along the promenade from Tel Aviv port to Jaffa, a tour around Hayarkon Park, and you can even take a Segway tour of the Ramat Gan Safari park.

2. Ramat Gan Safari

Two hundred and fifty acres of the Ramat Gan Safari park will delight the whole family with its enormous collection of African animals. You’ll see herds of elephants, hippos, chimpanzees, giraffes, lions and baboons, as well as dozens of other animals wandering around in their natural habitat. You can tour in your own car, join a safari jeep tour, or take a Segway tour (don’t worry, this tour is not in the free roaming enclosure)! For a different view of the animals, take an evening or night tour and hear fascinating stories about the animals from the zoo keepers.

Ride the elevator to the 49th floor of the round Azrieli Tower and step out to onto the highest observation deck in the Middle East. The panoramic view of the coastline goes as far as Gadera in the south and Hadera in the north. There’s a film about Tel Aviv and its history and an audio guide pointing out all the famous landmarks you can see but may not be able to  identify.

4. Meymadion

The 25 acres of Meymadion, situated in Hayarkon Park, make it the largest water park in Israel. There’s no doubt that when the weather’s scorching, the best place to be is in the water and children of any age will vote for Meymadion.

You’ll find everything you’ve ever dreamed of in a water park, including the country’s tallest “U” shaped water.  Climbing activities, slalom slides, tube lanes, and a hot shot slide are just some of the interesting and exciting fun ways to spend the day.  Meymadion swimming pools include such unique designs as the monsoon wave pool and a 900-meter children’s pool with a built-in amusement playground in the water. There’s plenty of cool shady areas with room for a picnic, as well as beach chairs to relax on.
