Ashkelon Shopping Malls

Ashkelon has some good shopping malls and great gourmet restaurants. A very fascinating shopping and restaurant area is in the Old City of Migdal, where all kinds of interesting architectural buildings with arches and courtyards abound. Here you can combine a shopping spree with a tour of the museum, art galleries, and eating out in an ethnic restaurant with gourmet cuisine.

Giron Mall

Located in the center of Ashkelon near the Central Bus Station on 21 Ben Gurion Boulevard, the Giron Mall is a very popular entertainment and recreation center. Besides some major stores, boutiques and a supermarket, there are five movie theaters, coffee shops and fast food places.

Huzot Mall

Also on Ben Gurion is the Huzot Shopping Mall, a popular two-story mall bustling with restaurants, a bowling alley, movie theaters, and of course all kinds of shops including a supermarket.

Lev Ashkelon Mall

The Shimshon neighborhood on the southern side of Ashkelon is the home of the Lev Ashkelon Shopping Mall. This mall is near Ashkelon National Park and Barzilai Hospital. Located here are gift, fashion, sports and music shops, making this mall popular with tourists as well as natives. There is also a bank and drug store.


Migdal is the Old City of Ashkelon and this is a charming area with historical and interesting buildings which open to courtyards and narrow alleys. The Ashkelon Museum is located there in the Khan, which was an ancient caravansary. In the courtyard of the Khan are art galleries and workshops. The courtyard is also a venue for open air concerts, shows and dancing during the summer season. The municipality also has plans to open an artists’ colony next to the Khan.

Ashkelon Pedestrian Mall

The Pedestrian Mall in Ashkelon is bordered by Herzyl and David Remez Streets and is the focal point of the Old City. Here you will find gourmet restaurants, boutiques, shops, coffee shops and pizzerias. Exhibitions, shows and concerts also add to the popularity of this place with tourists and native Israelis alike.

Shopping and Restaurants in Ashkelon: Did You Know?

An open air market or Shuk is held next to the Khan in Migdal on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fresh fruits and vegetables are for sale, as well as clothing and houseware bargains.
