They also have a lot of Kosher and kosher l’mehadrin restaurants which reflect the traditional eating habits of many of the residents. Fish Restaurants in Ashdod

Pescado, a kosher fish and meat restaurant, specializes in fabulous gourmet fish dishes like rock bass baked in a stone oven with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms; hot sashimi salmon seared in sesame oil; saviche, which is raw fish marinated in lime juice with chilis, red onions and tomatoes; raw red tuna carpaccio dishes and fresh amberjack sashimi on a bed of avocado slivers. Meat Restaurants in Ashdod

Shipudim is a Kosher meat restaurant offering Middle Eastern grilled meat mainly on skewers, shipudim like kabob, chicken liver, chicken hearts, lamb and fish. Sinta (sirloin) is a Kosher meat restaurant offering gourmet dishes like pieces of sirloin rolled on skewers and served over baked yams, or seared sirloin in date and olive oil sauce. They also have some great fish dishes, like baked fillet of salmon in root vegetables with olive oil and lemon; fillet of sea bream flavored with herbs, olive oil, capers and tomatoes; and sea bass on a bed of olives, olive oil, capers, tomatoes, garlic and lemon. Namaste is a Kosher ethnic Indian restaurant and banquet hall that is very popular with the 10,000 Indian Jews who live in and near Ashdod, and also with people looking for a great restaurant with an Oriental twist and those who simply like Indian food. Traditional Indian bread called nan is served with various dips and there are also variations like garlic nan. Specialties of the house are: Tandouri Chicken, Beef Curry, and Chicken Filled Nan. La’goffre is a Kosher Belgian and Italian dairy restaurant. One of their specialties is a Belgian waffle made with a secret recipe and topped with chocolate and ice cream. Delicious crepes are prepared right in front of the customer. Italian ice cream is made fresh every day by La’goffre. They also have a 0% fat ice cream made from fruit sugar and a variety of frozen yogurts.
